We've been in the new studio since October of 2008 and I just haven't had a chance to do much with this site. There's lots of new gear (especially drums, as always) and lots of new bands, but I just haven't had a chance to update anything.
So: there are lots of mp3s to show you what I've been doing in the fancy new studio all year. There's new stuff from The Foxglove Hunt, Dorsey, Juicy Newt, Neba, Nate Stone, xrayok, Heist at Hand, JD Stooks, The Breadwinners, Sugar High, Awake and Alert, Slut Sister, and Life in Stereo. Most of it was done in the new studio, but there are a few things done late in the old place that you should hear.
By the way, all of the mp3s that I've uloaded are done at 160 or better. So they should sound decent - better than myspace crap. but they might take a little longer to download. it's worth it.
I'm starting a new Dear and the Headlights recording tomorrow, after which I do a sort of secret record (more on that later), then a Black Carl record. I also mix a Tugboat record some time in there as well.
Bookings are not very far out - I think I'm open as of July or August. I'm also open to the concept of mixing records recorded someplace else. Our vintage Neve console (recently commissioned and serviced by the great Geoff Tanner himself!) is such an amazing tool that I'm getting cocky and I fancy myself able to repair any botched recording job. (I blame that console.)
http://www.flyingblanket.blogspot.com/ - studio construction blog. not updated much anymore but you can see the studio's constructionas well as a severed donkey head (RIP).
there's also a myspace now (blame Marcus):
www.myspace.com/flyingblanket - you'll have to pull the same "copy and paste into your browser" stunt for this one as well. I don't know why. I just know computers are way fussier than tape machines.
